Kalguksu (Noodle Soup)

Daejeon is famous for its Kalguksu house. You can taste deep-fried noodles such as hot chili noodles, handmade noodles with sweet and sour taste, and deep-fried barrel noodles, chewy noodles such as broiled calabrese, local noodle soup, seafood noodle soup, and so on.

  • Ingredients: Noodles, clams, pumpkin, onions, shrimp, red pepper, kelp.
  • Recipe: Boil kelp and clams to make a broth. Add noodles and cook slightly. Add remaining ingredients and boil until tender. Salt to taste.

Tofu Duruchigi

Daejeon's Tofu Durujigi is a kind of food that you can tantalize your soft tofu and squash it, spicy spices such as red pepper powder, garlic soy sauce, and sesame oil, and enjoy the unique taste and flavor of tofu.

  • Ingredients: Tofu, onion, carrot, green pepper, red pepper, green onion, crown daisy, kelp stock, sesame seeds.
  • Recipe: Place vegetables and lightly blanched tofu in a pan and cover with seasonings and kelp stock. Heat gently until the stock boils and the tofu is softened. Place in a bowl, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Unique Taste: Add squid or pork for a protein-rich and diet-friendly tofu dish.
