Government Institutions

Government Institutions

Foreign residents of Daejeon find themselves frequently interacting with their local “dong” office (community center), the “gu” office (district office) and the City Halt. These government agencies administrate a number of civic functions, including public health and welfare services, the management of public facilities and the issuance of legal certificates and reports. The community centers also offer many different social and cultural programs for their local residents. Some official documents can be issued from a kiosk or via the Internet() without having to visit the responsible government agencies. In order to obtain documents through the internet, a printer must be installed, and certain digital certificates must still be authorized by a government agency.
